Mac Bluetooth Transfer - Enabling Your Mac To Accept File Transfers Via Bluetooth

Sending files via Bluetooth from one device to your Mac (and vice versa) is a pretty convenient and quick way of sharing files. It should be a fairly easy task, but if you are having trouble with your Mac Bluetooth transfers, let's say for example you want to send a picture file from your cellphone to your Mac using Bluetooth and are unable to connect, here are a few things you might want to check on your Mac's end:

  1. Make sure that your Mac's Bluetooth device is on and that it is set to be discoverable. You can do this by going to the menu bar at the top of your screen. On the right side of the menu bar, you'll find the Bluetooth icon.
  2. Launch System Preferences and go to Sharing (under Internet and Network), and make sure that Bluetooth Sharing is checked.
Hopefully after checking these things and making any of the necessary changes, you'll be able to complete your Mac Bluetooth file transfers without any problems.
